It's easy to forget that everyone isn't as excited about innovation as you may be. Changing the culture in your organization shouldn't make people feel like they don't belong, or need to change who they are.
In comedy and politics, if you're explaining, you're losing. It's the same thing with work. Too often things get bogged down because we need need to explain what we 'really' meant when people misunderstand or misinterpret what we said the first time. This happens so often at my last startup, that we decided to do something about it. The answer wasn't more communication. It was less.
If you want to have a culture of innovation in your organization, then tap into the latent aptitudes of your people. Everyone was born with a natural ability to be curious and creative. They just need to be persuaded to use it.
