Brian Maggi is an American comedian, writer and creator of Showmentum – a San Francisco Bay Area event production company. Before becoming a comedian, he spent 25 years in the tech industry including working for Apple Computer. Besides comedy, his next biggest claim to fame is inventing the SPAM filter so he’d have an excuse for not seeing his mother’s emails.

Brian got his start in comedy as the humor editor for In Formation Magazine and writing sketch comedy for Second City in Chicago. His first comedy album Frenemies with Benefits was released in October 2024 and is now streaming all the major platforms. He’s currently working on his next comedy special “Concern Troll.”

You can catch Brian on the first Friday of every month hosting Laughs in a Glass at 3 Steves Winery in Livermore, California. Now in its 5th year, the event has raised over $15,000 for Culinary Angels and showcases the best up and coming standup comedians.

He performs regularly around San Francisco Bay Area including The California Theater, Silverado Country Club, The Bankhead Theater, and various wineries.

He has opened for Laurie Kilmartin, and Kira Soltanovich.
