I think this is kind of cool, but it kind of reminds me of the “Who’s Who” racket from high school. I think the way it worked was if you had decent grades, they would send you a letter to get your name on a national registry. The catch was it cost money to be on the list. You would get a plaque in return.
While I think LinkedIn has way more credibility than that, I can’t say whether being in the top 5% is worth noting. I’ll take what I can get.
